Homemade Coffee Ice Cream Recipe
There's no better way to satiate your coffee craving than with a sweet dessert infusion! This is our recipe for coffee ice cream made at home!
- 1 Quart of Cream
- 1 1/4 Quart of Milk
- 9 Eggs
- 1 1/2 lbs. of Sugar
- 1 Cup of Your Favorite Ground Just a Grind Coffee
To start, pour 1 quart of milk over your coffee grounds and bring to a boil. Keep a slow boil for ten minutes while stirring then remove from heat just enough to let it cool slightly. Strain the mixture of all grounds, and add enough milk to make the mixture one quart again. (Should be about 1/4 a quart). Make sure to stir and mix the coffee infused milk with the newly added milk. Place the mixture aside and let it settle. Now begin to strain the yolks and the whites of the 9 eggs into 2 separate bowls. Beat the yolks until they're thick and lemon-colored, then while beating, slowly begin to add your sugar in parts. Next, beat the bowl of egg whites until peaks begin to form. Now add the stiffly-beaten whites into the bowl of your yolks and beat again while slowly adding your cream. (I know a lot of beating but this is what makes it fluffy and yummy!) Take the milk-coffee mixture and add your cream mixture to it and cook it on a double boiler. (If you don't have a double boiler, use a bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, it'll do the trick!) Now leave it in there until it coats a spoon without running. Be sure to stir constantly and be careful not to let it curdle. Once it's reached the desired consistency, strain one last time through a strainer and let it cool. You can choose to add some vanilla extract or any other flavor at this point that you think would pair well with coffee, just be sure to mix it well and evenly into the cream! Now just place the cream into the freezer and enjoy your homemade coffee ice cream!
